Training Nurses and Midwives to Deal with Teenage Pregnancy

Uganda registered increased number of teenage pregnancy cases due to lockdown.  Recent research indicated the city centers had the higher cases than villages compared to the previous research. This calls for more effort in empowering adolescent girls to make health informed decision.

Provident Teen Mothers believe nurses and midwives can contribute a better impact since they can scientifically answer the questions girls have about the myths they learn or hear from fellows. We do train nurses to talk to Parents, teachers, boys and the girls in schools.  After the training, nurses are allocated to a partner school to provide counseling services.
